Equipment turnover plan

 

Administrative:

 

Give 5 office iMacs to library, 3 admin G4 towers to video production lab

Purchase/lease new eMacs to replace these computers (9 total-8 office, 1 nurse)

Administrative laptops will be turned in, purchase new iBooks or Powerbooks for administrators

Purchase diskonkey for all administrators—eliminates the need for floppy disks

Old powerbooks go into checkout pool for staff, get upgraded to OS X

 

Classroom:

Option 1:

Replace ALL existing G3 AIO’s with eMacs

 

Option 2:

Replace all primary (k-2) G3’s with iMac classics, 3-8 get eMacs. Potential savings ~ $4800

 

Option 3:

Replace all primary/elementary (K-5) G3’s with iMac classics, 6-8 get eMacs. Potential savings ~ $9600

 

Library:

 

Library will get 5 iMacs from office for a total of 10 student stations.

 

Option 1:

Buy additional laptops for library that may be used by librarian during class time or checked out by a teacher if additional computers are needed in the classroom.

 

Option 2:

Put G3’s taken from the classrooms in the library for additional computers.

 

Mobile Labs:

 

Purchase/lease two additional mobile labs with 15-20 laptops each.

 

Servers:

 

Upgrade 2 existing G4 servers to OS X.2 server, combine all student/staff document storage onto one server, use the other for web/email
